Q: Do you have additional information on the Softsider use and care?
A: Your SOFTSIDERTM model full leather holster is ready to use outof the box. You will notice that your gun fits securely and the holster must be pulled on a bit at first. This is normal and the fit will loosen up after a few weeks of carrying it in your pocket and working the gun in and out. It is normal to have to use two hands to insert your gun securely into the holster so that it seats correctly and flat. You may have to lift the leather up over the trigger guard when you are inserting your gun. You may want to work your gun around in the holster and massage the leather to take shape. Push the gun to the bottom of the holster to start forming the leather at the bottom. Please be sure the magazine and chamber are empty when trying this holster for the first time so that there is no chance of the gun firing.
Do not wet your holster to adjust the fit and do not stretch your holster out by inserting objects other than the intended pistol into it to stretch it or loosen it up. You can wipe it clean if needed with warm water on a soft cloth but do not submerge it in water. You may use a leather conditioner or cleaner as well to clean or to bring back the natural leather sheen and to keep the stitching from drying out over time. If the nylon stitching is frayed you can quickly hold a small flame under it to quickly melt it. A bic lighter works well but be sure you have the gun out of the holster and do not hold the flame too close or too long on the leather as you will damage or discolor it. The nylon thread will react quickly to heat and shrink to melt the frayed end.
How to use the Split Finger Assisted DrawTM: (patent pending)
After putting your gun into the holster go ahead and put the holster inside your front pants pocket. Make sure it is sitting upright and against your leg.
Slip your hand into your pocket and on the outside of the holster. With your hand sliding down the holster and over the gun’s grip, feel for the trigger guard cutout and insert your trigger/index finger behind the trigger and against the grip. Do not try to reach the actual front of the trigger. Now insert the tip of your adjacent middle finger into the round cutout hole or Pusher HoleTM. Just enough of your middle finger is needed to be on the edge of the Pusher Hole. Do not put your whole finger into the Pusher Hole, just the tip. These two fingers - one on the grip behind the trigger and the other in the pusher hole will become a very familiar feeling once you are using it. Your thumb is just resting on the backstrap of the grip. You can have your hand in that position inside your pocket on your gun at any time and it will be unnoticeable and very discreet. As the gun comes out of the holster and pocket you can then wrap your hand completely around the grip to get ready to shoot. See photo below.
(Note: For clarity purposes the photos were taken on the outside of the pants but your hand and holster will be inside the pocket)
You are simply pulling the gun up with your trigger finger and pushing off the holster downwards with your adjacent middle finger. When the gun is out or is coming out of the holster you may wish to adjust your hand on the grip in anticipation of firing or racking the slide.

Q: How should I measure for a belt?
A: To be sure of your size, take a cloth measuring tape and put it through your belt loops just as you would a belt. Where it comes together in the front is where to read the tape measurement. Provide the measurement in inches.
Q: What makes DALTECH FORCE belts better than other belts?
A: DALTECH FORCE belts are made out of top grain bullhide, the thickest toughest hide for a belt. Only full hides are used and all our belts are cut out of a single hide, no pieces are sewn together. They are 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches wide and the thickness of the leather can be 1/4 inch. You will not find a thicker belt at retail anywhere. We do not use stitching, snaps, or rivets that can wear out or break. We only use chicago screw type fasteners, solid brass plated heavy roller type buckles, and heavy single tongue buckles for single hole models. All our holes are oval and not just punched round. Belts are completely hand crafted in our shop. We inspect each one and can provide sizes up to 76 inches in length and 2" in width.
